Below are samples of solo, duo, trio jazz as we would play at an event.
Please review these guidelines to understand the type of atmosphere where we are
the best fit.
Why you SHOULD NOT hire me or
my groups for your event:
If you want a highly extroverted, take-over-the-joint, get 'em dancing on the
tables, sing along,"Uncle Sal wants to sing his Italian repertoire", "Billy Joel
- Elton John --piano bar with a thousand requests".....sorry I
am not the right musician for your event. Nothing against those who want
this type of thing, or those who perform it. I just know you
would be better served by others if this is your vision. Take the
time to envision the kind of mood you wish to create.
Sometimes "the party planning committee" has such a wide range of expectations,
that it becomes impossible to find the right mix of music.
WHY YOU SHOULD HIRE ME OR MY GROUPS FOR YOUR EVENT:
If you want classic jazz, tastefully played, by professional / seasoned
musicians, to set a mood, create an elegant background, and / or enterain those
who appreciate jazz standards and melodies.....then you've found the right
people! :-)
We function best in situations where you need a classy, lively mood with
energy.....with a background ambience.
It is jazz and American "standards" in solo, duo, trio format tactfully
played with passion and energy but without overpowering the room.
We love playing this music in exactly this type of situation,
where the attendees are able to talk or listen at their option.
Although "jazz" has many meanings....in our case it is improvisation on classic
jazz tunes & standards, done with taste, style and mostly "inside"
harmony....not atonal / self indulgence.....( which has it's place, but not
usually at your company party.)
It is exactly what you would expect in an elegant restaurant. Mood, energy,
but not dominating the room.
Combinations include:
Solo jazz piano using a state of the art keyboard and sound system.
( I'm a piano techncian....very picky about the sound of this rig.)
Solo jazz piano using a real acoustic grand piano. (since I move pianos, I
can bring a real grand piano if
you want )

Natalija Pavlovic is a fresh voice on the Boston jazz scene.
Understated but powerful and assertive in her own way, she comes from the
quieter side of Billie Holiday and Astrud Gilberto. Her approach is perfect for
intimate performance situations like restaurants, clubs and parties where you
might think a singer would be 'too much'. Listen to the samples
above......she is very easy on the ears. Natalija sings in a variety of
languages, in addition to a wide array of American standards and is a breath of
fresh air in an age of overblowing divas.

Mark Pucci is one of Boston's top jazz acoustic bass players.
Mark has an extensive background playing & touring with many jazz
greats. He is an authority on, and has a deep love for 'the standard'
tunes.....it is an awesome privilege to play with Mark! See clips
above.

Kevin Barbour is a highly accomplished artist, musician and teacher based in the
Boston area. He has several CD's of his own music covering a wide range of
musical tastes. Kevin is hard at work on his next CD, which
will include a schedule of special performances in support of its release.
In addition, he has been the spark to create situations where we can do
piano/guitar duo jazz, along the lines of Bill Evans and Jim Hall.....samples
above. Again, my privilege to be playing with someone as accomplished as
Kevin! See his original music site: http://www.myspace.com/kevinbarbour

Short video
clip of a recent business function
Entertaining AND danceable! In the case of Latin
Jazz, the Merengue, Salsa, Bachata, Cumbia, Calypso, Bossa Nova rhythms are so
infectious that you will certainly want to dance, even if you don't know how. This
unique combination of Latin and American standard tunes, played with authentic
Latin rhythms, works very well as background music, or as dance music, if you
are in the mood. It also is a refreshing twist for any corporate event, if
you are wanting something different from classic jazz. I'm very fortunate to
be able to play with Rod and Amado!
